Formula One is challenge that tests the nerves of a car racing team. Best teams from all over the world gear up to face this challenge. Only those who have top class techniques and practiced hard for it succeed in this racing.

Whenever I think of Formula 1 there is one car that comes into my mind and it is BMW. This car has excelled over the period of time in this competition.

Cars powered by BMW have got victory in 20 races. BMW took charge of the Sauber team in 2006 and became the Formula 1 constructors. The team got fair amount of success in 2007 as well as and 2008. The BMW Sauber team got the constructor team victory at Canadian Grand Prix in June, 2008, with driver Robert Kubica.

There are many significant achievements which BMW has to its name. It won the driver championship once in 1983. It was runner-up in constructor championship in 2002, 2003 and 2007. It has 20 Grand Prix victories to it name. It has got podium finishes 76 times. It has got pole positions 33 times. It has 33 fastest laps to its name.

In the past BMW has supplied engine to Williams, Brabham, Benetton, and Arrows. There are several great drivers who started their career in Formula One with BMW. This includes Sebastian Vettel, Juan Pablo Montoya, Jenson Button, and Robert Kubica.

BMW announced in 2009 about its withdrawal from the Formula One after the finishing of 2009 season. This team was purchased by Peter Sauber who was the earlier owner of it. From this discussion we find that BMW displayed consistent performance in Formula 1 in the past.
