Harley-Davidson is an American company that specializes in production of motorcycles. It is popularly called Harley. It originated at Milwaukee in Wisconsin in early 20th century. This motorcycle survived the great depression. This company got strong competition from the
manufacturers in Japan but was able to maintain its pace.
The company is known for producing heavyweight motorcycles that are over 750cc. They are made in such a manner that people cruise on them on highways. These motorcycles have a very different design along with the exhaust note. These bikes follow heavy customization tradition. The present Harleys show the style followed in classic Harley design with the exception of VRSC model.
Mostly Sportsters that are meant for street purpose use XL as the prefix in model designation. There are some exceptions of this case like XR 1000 that came in 1980s and also XR 1200.
